This Privacy Policy explains how UbiZ, a service operated by Global Digital Cooperative (GDC), accesses, collects, uses, stores, protects and shares information when you use the UbiZ mobile application, the website located at https://www.ubiz.mobi, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

This page is intended to be the public privacy policy for the UbiZ app distributed through Google Play and other app stores. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Services.

1. Contact and privacy inquiries

For privacy questions, account deletion requests, data access requests, or other inquiries about this Privacy Policy, you may contact us through the contact form available on this website or through the support options available inside the UbiZ app.

2. Minimum age

The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old or who have reached the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction. The Services are not directed to children.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you use UbiZ, we may collect or process the following categories of information:

  • Account and profile information: name, username, email address, password or authentication credentials, profile photo, language preference, country, city and other information you provide when registering or updating your account.
  • Authentication and session information: user ID, session ID, security keys, device UUID, linked-device information, login status and information needed to keep your account secure.
  • Business, promotion and event information: information submitted by businesses or users, including company name, address, contact details, descriptions, categories, images, promotions, events, attendance confirmations and related public content.
  • Location information: approximate or precise location when you grant permission or use location-based features, such as nearby ads, nearby businesses, proximity search, maps, event location features and MarketCoop proximity features.
  • Camera and QR information: camera access is used to scan QR codes and similar codes. QR scan results may be processed to complete the requested action, such as wallet, event, business or verification actions.
  • Photos and media: images you choose to upload or select, such as profile photos, business photos, promotion images or other content you submit.
  • Device and technical information: device model, operating system, app version, build number, screen resolution, time zone, IP address, crash or error information, and technical logs required to operate, secure and improve the Services.
  • Notifications data: notification permission status, push notification token, pending notification counters, notification interactions and local event reminder data stored on your device.
  • Biometric login data: if you enable biometric access, UbiZ may use your device biometric capability to unlock locally stored login credentials. UbiZ does not receive or store your fingerprint, face scan or biometric template.
  • YTC wallet and transfer data: information necessary to display wallet balances, linked devices, transfer previews, transfer confirmations, QR-based transfers, recipients and related transaction references.
  • Support and communications: messages, requests, support tickets, contact form submissions, newsletter information and communications you send to us.

4. Permissions used by the app

The UbiZ mobile app may request the following permissions. You can manage these permissions from your device settings.

  • Camera: used for QR scanning and image-related features that you initiate.
  • Location: used to show nearby businesses, promotions, events, maps, proximity search results and location-based content.
  • Notifications: used to send push notifications, account notices, promotions, event notices, YTC-related notices and local event reminders.
  • Photos or media picker: used only when you choose an image to upload or attach.
  • Biometric authentication: used only when you choose to enable biometric login on your device.

5. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • to create, authenticate and maintain your account;
  • to provide app functionality, including search, favorites, events, notifications, business listings, promotions, MarketCoop features, YTC wallet features and QR features;
  • to show nearby or location-relevant content when you request it;
  • to send service messages, security notices, push notifications and event reminders;
  • to process business, promotion, event and wallet-related actions requested by you;
  • to protect accounts, prevent fraud, detect abuse and maintain service security;
  • to troubleshoot, maintain, analyze and improve the Services;
  • to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

6. Local event reminders

If you confirm participation in an event, the app may store the event activity ID, event title and local event date/time on your device in order to schedule local reminders, such as 24 hours before, 1 hour before and 5 minutes before the event. If you cancel participation, the app cancels the related local reminders. Local reminders are stored on your device and may be removed if you uninstall the app, clear app data or change device settings.

7. Use within the GDC ecosystem

We do not sell your personal information and we do not provide your personal information to external providers for their own use. Information is used within the Global Digital Cooperative (GDC) ecosystem and with GDC products and services only as needed to operate UbiZ and the features requested by you.

  • GDC ecosystem operation: information may be used across UbiZ, MarketCoop, YTC wallet features, event features, business listings, promotions, notifications and other GDC products when required to provide the requested functionality.
  • Interactions initiated by you: information may be visible or processed when you contact, favorite, attend, transact with, or otherwise interact with a business, event, promotion or member inside the GDC ecosystem.
  • Public content: business listings, public promotions, public events, public profile or listing information and other content intentionally published through the Services may be visible to users of the GDC ecosystem and search engines.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, legal process, government request, fraud prevention, security protection, rights enforcement or to protect users, the public or UbiZ.

8. External links

The Services may include links that open external websites or apps, such as app stores, maps, social networks or external pages. When you leave UbiZ, those external services are governed by their own policies. UbiZ is not responsible for websites or services outside the GDC ecosystem.

9. Data security

We use administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted connections where supported. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements and maintain backups. Some deleted information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period before deletion according to our operational retention practices.

11. Account deletion and data rights

You may request account deletion through the in-app account deletion option or through https://www.ubiz.mobi/deleteAccount.php. After deletion, your account access will be removed and personal information associated with the account will be deleted or de-identified unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, transaction-record or legitimate business purposes.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information. You may submit these requests through the contact methods described in this Privacy Policy.

12. International processing

UbiZ is operated internationally. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence. Data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction, but we take measures intended to protect information as described in this Privacy Policy.

13. Cookies and similar technologies

Our websites may use cookies, local storage, pixels and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, support analytics and improve the Services. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the Services after an update means that you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
